South of Demyansk, 150km SE of Novgorod: [Best played against Human opponent or as Axis] As Operation Typhoon slowly ground to a halt with German forces in sight of Moscow, the Russians launched a major counteroffensive against Army Group Center. Division after division was hurled at the Germans, already under attack by the unrelenting Russian winter. Against the flood of Soviet divisions stood two German breakwaters. Demyansk and Kholm. On January 12th the German 3rd Panzer Regiment, equipped with newer Pz IV’s, and the 6th SS Motorized Infantry Regiment slammed into the advancing Soviet 14th Guards Rifle Regiment with its supporting armor, the 85th and 170th Tank Battalions south of Demyansk near Molvotitsy.

Soviet armor makes this one slightly more difficult for Axis. Definitely not impossible, though, and worth a play.

Many different strategies & tactics can be used by either side. Soviet inf are fragile and must be kept out of harms way.

A wild, crazy, see-saw scenario, very entertaining, my opponent and I thoroughly enjoyed it!
