Huerta to Salamanca 21-22 July 1812 - No night movement variant. This scenario starts at the point when Marmont's troops have crossed the Tormes at Huerta, forcing Wellington to leave Salamanca and move his troops south of the river to prevent the French from cutting his communications with Ciudad Rodrigo. The French have exit hexes on the left map edge to represent this, but they might prefer to win by defeating the enemy and recapturing Salamanca instead. The Allies will need to hold onto their objectives and protect the exit hexes to prevent a French victory, but they will also want to inflict heavier losses on the enemy.

The allies don't have many guns. There is also a long frontage to cover, to protect the exit hexes. However the French attacked Salamanca and the Thin Red Line held. With more French aggression they could have broken through. The covering force at the exit hexes attacked the French rear.

The French have to be careful of terrain and have a long range plan before pushing forward. Choices in this battle can be your undoing, go for the exit or go for Salamanca or split the difference? It's a great battle, just plan.
