France, 22th August 1914: Germany invaded France in the first week of August, 1914. This invasion was neither sudden nor rapid since both sides needed weeks to fully mobilize for war. The initial German invasion primarily consisted of attacks into Belgium to reduce the fortress city of Liège. Weeks following these initial attacks, the German armies were fully mobilized and marching across the border in accordance with a modified version of the Schlieffen Plan. By mid August, France was fully mobilized and ready to meet the German threat. The French had concentrated their armies in respect to their own plan, Plan XVII, which called for a concentration of armies along the French border with Germany and an all out offensive into Germany once mobilization was complete. On the 22nd of August, Germany and the Allies collided head long into battle across hundreds of kilometers of front. It was on that day that both sides were fully committed to their respective plans beyond the point of no return. The stage was set for both sides to strike their unrestrained blows upon each other, and bring about a decisive and quick victory and be home by Christmas. The Germans need to keep moving.

MGs should have no ZOC to balance play. Also, Volcanoman's changes to Objectives VPs should be made the norm

It's a tough go for the Allied side in this, particularly if facing a relentless and skilled opponent as I had in Mr. Quinn. My advice for the Allied side would be to run early and fast and stand your ground only when necessary or clearly advantageous.
