le Hamel, West of Caen: June 11th, 1944. (Scenario Size: Regiment+. Head to Head or Human vs AI for either side) This scenario combines 0611_01 & 0611_02. The Germans were desperately trying to hold on to a small salient as the base for a Panzer counter attack to the coast. The British and Canadians were just as desperate to expand the beachhead and be rid of the salient. Two battalions of the Green Howards with armor support from the 4th/7th Royal Dragoon Guards were tasked to take Cristot and Brouay, just to the east of them the Canadians kicked of their attempt to take Le Mesnil-Patry a few hours later.

Lots of open ground for the Allies to cross so a bit tough for them but they do have numbers.

It's an excellent scenario, but the victory requirements favour the Axis too much currently.

This one can be tough for the Allies as they try and advance through the bocage. While the Axis will be attacked from both sides of the salient the attacks don't happen at the same time and it isn't tough to shift armored resources around to stave off the attack.

Excellent scenario. The Axis have interior lines and very good armor. The Allies have numbers and some deadly artillery.

In hindsight I should have restricted firing any half tracks and AT guns. Although many were in good positions, the allied defensive fire artillery took them out almost immediately. Point wise I would have been better off not using them. Just too fragile vs the Allied artillery.

A good scenario to learn when to shoot, when not too, and setting up opportunity fire when playing the Axis. Sometimes I felt I was doing more damage to myself than the Allies!

Never at any point though did I feel I did not have a chance. On the very last turn I needed 10 points to get the draw. My opponent really use his artillery and strength of numbers well.

All around, really enjoyed this scenario and in my opinion, balanced well.

Very hard for the Allied units to take anything, high German morale makes it near impossible to disrupt them.

The lesson I learned is that when attacking A morale,dug-in German units, your focus should be on isolating them. They will rarely disrupt from the effects of fire.
