Calvados Coast, North of Caen: June 6th, 1944. (Scenario Size: Corp. Allied Human vs Axis AI, Head to Head or Team Play) The British had arguably the larger job during the intial D Day objectives; they were expected to land on three adjacent beaches, consolidate into a contiguous front and take Bayeax in the west and importantly Caen in the east. These large towns/cities were well inland and expected to be taken coup de main style by fast moving armour columns with mounted infantry. Additionally the 6th Airborne had to secure the landings left flank by capturing the crossings on the Orne River while denying the Germans the chance to counterattack from the south or east. This scenario covers the complete British landings on June 6th, the initial exploitation phase and German response.
