Hey all,

I have been playing The proud and few against Nikb as the Japanese and have noticed that my fixed guns and towed guns show only the guns as an icon and not the units crewing them, making the hex look like the crew has been killed. If you click on the hex, they show up on the tool bar as if they are there (which they are) and in great shape. Is this how they are supposed to look in 2D or is it a "glitch" in the game? I am running VISTA by the way (which I like better than XP by the way). I patched it from the HPS website for vista as well. It's playable so no big deal, but haven't seen this before. Thought the powers that be might want to know if this wasn't intended.

As for where's all the players, I usually have a pbm going all the time and visit the forums every time I log on at this club. Squad battles is by far my favorite game series.
Sure enough, one pulls up and parks within 20 meters of one of my fully armed, rested, in-command squads. What do they do? Instead of assaulting the tank with grenades, they shoot at the commander with small arms, causing the tank to button up and every T34 in the area to target them.
This will likely result in mass area firing and my entire platoon lost for nothing. What orders could I have given to prevent this?

Shall I get a read-only one?
Or shall I spend a bit more and get a dual one that reads and writes (burns)?
Are duals more hassle to install and set up than read-only's?
The only reason I can think of for getting a read-and-writer is so I can save screenshots and pics from my hard drive onto CD's, will it be able to do that?
I see some DVD drives say '16X DVD read speed' on the box, is that fast enough or shall I get a faster one?
Are DVD drives easy to fit? I just unscrew the old CD-Rom drive and screw in the DVD drive in its place, right?

Introducing for all of your consideration and suggestions...

CM:INFECTION!

The Premise:
A fast moving, viral infection of the gut attempts to infect the entire body. I think highly mechanized German troops would best model this.

Defending this attack will be the antibodies of the body, represented by Russian troops. I think some weak local defenses should be preplaced, with strong, highly mobile reinforcements entering through the throat, modeling ingested medication.

The Map:

Paved road: Route from Esophagus to Stomach to Large Intestine.
Dirt Roads: Local Blood Arteries.

Gut: A maze of narrow pathways through an entangled mass of trees.

Organs: Tall Pines define the outline of the Organs, with typical cover liberally placed throughout.

Head: The Main Objective of the infection, with buildings to represent eyes/teeth/nose etc...

I would appreciate any assistance the community can offer in the following vein:
-Where and How should I improve the map?
-How many points should this map support?
-Should players be able to choose any of their forces, or should they all be preplaced/reinforcements?
-Any other suggestions.

I think an interesting way to pair off opponents would be to use their ELO rating, or maybe win/lose ratios to ensure that equally skilled players face off against each other....

Please tell me if your interested in taking part.
