As the second emperor of my country, my reign was four times as long as that of the previous emperor. They remember me unkindly in the country where I ruled, but a battleship named for me in the land of my birth was famously successful.

Negative. Hint: some countries have had more emperors than people think.

HiHi

Maths ain't my strong point but lets try George V reigned 1910 1936, his predicesor Edward reigned 1901 1910, the Battleship George V in on the Bismark kill. Oh and just to be safe Victoria was an Empress Smile

No. If there was a notably successful warship named after him I am unaware.

Does not meet the "four times" requirement, and only incorrigible unromantic anti-monarchists remember George V in a negative manner. Well, maybe in India, but he is not the Emperor I meant.

Lets see.....Yamato?

Kaiser Franz Joseph I protected cruiser completed 1890, ceded to France as war reparation and foundered and sunk in Oct. 1919. As you say, "not notably successful."
