Is it possible to take out stone bridges with assault engineers? How many hits does it take from them? What is a better way, 25 pounder or bombers?
Hi
Yes it is possible.
However it may take several hits to do it.
25 pdr will not do it...slim chance of 4.5"
Don't waste your bomber on them...they'll never hit the bloody thing!
25pdrs are excellent for hammering enemy half-tracks.
Use you dive bombers to try and kill enemy transport barges.
Remember not to have planes on map until turn 5 though.
Good luck

The assault engineers can blow bridges, but you *must* turn off all weapons except the satchel charges. Z-fire the satchel charge onto the bridge hex. I reckon that in this scenario there's about a 25% to 35% chance that any given charge will do the job.

Only one of mine assault engineer plt. was able to destroy one bridge with it´s last charge!
The other platoons used there whole charges for nothing.
Better listen to them and leave my bridges alone

Ha!
Blow them I say
I took a stone bridge with my first try...fired both HE and flame thrower, not sure which killed it.
Railway bridge has survived two attempts so far.
I guess that's why he's provided the ammo carriers eh

I had really good initial luck--something like 3 bridges in 5 tries--and started thinking demolition was going to be a cakewalk. Then I hit a stretch like you describe, to the point where I thought I must be doing something wrong. I also found a bug in the ordnance reloading to boot.
But, it was the most important 3 bridges that went, so no complaints.

No...just in general.
Playing you in tourneys is not good for my general humour.
I'll get my revenge....I can wait

What bug?
Did you report it at Shrapnel so the SPCAMO guys can check it out?
