Can't figure out how to rename some files with word "Fuhrer" using the German u ( umlaut ) any help would be appreciated.
That would be "Fuehrer."

Ä = ae

Ö = oe
Sorry my mistake, l'll try to explain what i want to do and no doubt it will be so simple.

I have three art files, OberGpnFuhrer, Gpn.Fuhrer and Bde.Fuhrer.
I want the u in Fuhrer just like your A and O in your reply, is it dots or strokes.

My pc is english so when l type " u " its " u ".

But I want a German " u " with the " above like " ii ".
A " u " but like two joined " ii ".

Hope this is a umlaut.

Sorry if this is so basic but l'm not gettin any younger

Or if I could send someone the files to rename this would be OK.

If you are using Microsoft. Click on start. Click on programs. Click on accessories. Click on character map.
Scroll to locate "umlatted" u and click select, then click copy. You can then paste away to your hearts content. smoking

FWIIW, alaric99x did give you the correct answer. "ue" in English is the way to write out a "ü" sound. Smile

cheers
Great, smashing, super, a BIG thank ü to everbody.
