Been jumping hops to try make Uncommon valor work. I've been running the setup on XP SP2 compatibility, Ran as Administrator, Service Account Control off on my Laptop. I know it's not a defective disk because I installed on a different computer running on XP no problem (Big surprise Huh? >_< ). I get about 2/3 ways into the installation and an odd error occurs when I get to installing the sound bytes. It says decompression error (#6) read/write fail and it will not continue installing. I've tried installing several times and deleted the partially installed files and even used my nifty Norton tools to clean up windows. At first it error around 070 sound byte and now trying again it errors on 80.

I emailed marix games and told them whats up. After couple of exchanges they told odds are it's my built in video card on my laptop, 'Mobile IntelĀ® 965 Express Chipset Family ' is incompatible due to no Support for hardware transform and lighting (T&L), ontop of that he said newer games from matrix will have the same issue with that hardware for me. Is there any way to get around this? Is there even any way I can get a new Graphics card for the laptop if I have to? Here's my specs <---- of my laptop.

I'm so pissed. I just want my new matrix game to work. Damn comp.
just a thought, but have you tried to install on the XP PC and transfer the install over to the laptop, then try and run it?

another thing to try is to copy and paste the install files from the CD onto the Laptop and try installing from that.
Yea, I tried copying the files but it also errors around 60% the way through. I'm in the middle of contacting Intel about my drivers and then the issue abot the 'T and L'. I don't have a usb cord right now so can't directly transfer the files from my desktop to my laptop. :(
Yea. I just try'd again with all my drivers updated and positive that my disk is not damaged from a test I just ran on my other comp. I guess the Matrix tech was right it must be a problem due to this. Is there ANY way around that?

Edit: I have the Mobile Intel ® 965 Express Chipset family from toshiba btw.
