Hi,
I've been re-reading the excellent "Red Army" novel, by Ralph Peters, and I think that some interesting scenarios can come out of it.
I'm designing the first one. It's about a lone Soviet mech reconnaissance platoon that discovers an excellent crossing site across the Elbe-Seiten channel south of Bad Bevensen and disperses the Dutch defenders. It than gets attacked by German armoured detachment, just when the remainder of the Soviet mechanized company arrives to the scene.
The terrain is something like this:

The scenario should be balanced, where speed is of essence for both sides (for Germans to overrun the thin defence and for Soviets to quickly reinforce the bridgehead).
What do you think?
