You'd think he'd at least blush while he says it! Wink

Vesku, my copy of SPWW2 crapped out, so I've replaced it, but I've got one foot out the door to take the boys to the beach for a long weekend. I've got to hitch up the fischenboote and do a hundred other things, so I might be AWOL till late Sunday (early Monday your time).

Everyone have a great weekend!

No worries, I've got my sister visiting with their two little ones, I'm a bit busy myself for a week.
Just finished turn 11 and the things are getting really interesting. My Germans have managed to take four VLs so far but the opposition is intensifying. Scores of Germans have been killed in the beaches by HG troops and advancing is difficult especially on eastSad. Paras managed to take one VL but the Brits have found somewhere an extra platoon or so to get it back. Wont be easy thoughStir. Excellent fun!

cheers,
Thexder
Vesku and I are getting close to the end, and this is how burned out and grim things have got: Last night I ordered a 3-man mortar unit into close quarters assault ...

... and carried the engagement.

I`m also almost done with chris. This has been a game full of surprises, best I´ve played in years. It´s still unknown what will happen in the last turn, will I be able to wipe out annoying FJs who kept hiding for turns and decided to join the battle just some turns ago... only FSM knows...

Nice scenario Dan cheers

I've been dying to get some feedback from the other games, but didn't want to cross-pollinate the action.* That said, if it's any consolation, I suspect a lot of the games are going to be rather one-sided. Vesku's noble effort got ugly, too.

I gave Dan some suggestions for subtle tweaks that would improve the balance for future players. He pointed out that playtest indicated the opposite balance issue, and that he must have overcompensated for it.

*And as verbose as I tend to be, it takes a lot of willpower to zip it. Y'all who aren't getting close to the end, hurry your butts up! Wink

Here's the situation on turn 13 (trying to avoid any spoilers, report going through the "propaganda-filter"):

Charmouth: Firmly in control of the Reich. Assaulted by elements of the pioneers that suffered moderate casualties in mopping the town.Stir
Lyme Regis: In British control but the Germans have taken the town east of it and are advancing westwards. Here the Germans are suffering heavy casualties.Angry
Rhode Hill: The paras have taken the lonely VL. But this has happened with a steep price and the Brits are advancing from south to retake the area.Chin
Catherston Manor: Some paras dropped here and large portion of them were killed instantly. Some even dropped to the seaCry. The village is in British hands.
Rhode Barton & Spittles: Firmly in British hands with all of the defensive installations intact.
Eastern hill: The Germans that landed on shore here have been halted by defensive-installation system and have suffered heavy casualities.hissy

VLs are 6-15 in favor of the Brits now and the easy ones are already taken so it'll be difficult from no on...

What's the situation on the other battles?

cheers,
Thexder

BowGreat scenario BTW!!!Bow

That sounds quite on par with our experience. From Turn 0 to Turn 28, in 4-turn increments, I suspect the average German experience runs something to the effect of:
Eek1 Chin Cheeky Rolleyes Angry Curse Soap Rolleyes
