I need some sort of data to relate the size and modifiers to so I can set up the scoring portion of this ladder.

Other wise you get no points for playing Smile

Hi Randy,

my comment on the military ranks and some new images are
attached to my recent email.
Army branches: Cavalry, Infantry, Art., as usual.
You don´t need a persian flag.

6 armies are available in punic wars:
Republican Roman, Carthaginian, Italian States ( actually Greeks ),
Numidians, Gauls, Iberians.
The last three are used as Soldiers of fortune in other armies.
So the listed Nations should be:
1.Republic of Rome
2.Carthage
3.Several greek nations / city states like Macedonia, Sparta, Athen
Syracuse etc.

What do you need for scoring: Names of the Scenarios ?
Number of Turns ?, Number of point expenditure for the scen.
set up ? Attack vs. Defend or ME ?

Let me know, Klaus ( Jolly Roger )
artillery in Ancient wars? Smile
I used Calvary Infantry and Archers
ok no Persian flag then Smile
I got all the armies added then, just need some images for members to pick for ladder pictures.
They can be modern or ancient as long as they meet the 48X48 sizing and JPG format

Yes I need some sort of list for the victory levels
major win, minor win etc...
I also need some sort of comparison with the other games here to set the victory points level and how they relate in sizes to other games so I can set a Size modifier (if needed) that will multiply the points and give a fair amount for the battle posted.

CM scoring was used as the base points by which all other games here are based upon. If AW games are similar in size and time commitment to the NAPPY /ACW games then I can use that formula, if it is similar to the CS one then we can use that, but we'll need a Size modifier.. hope this makes sense? Smile

The other information you will need to enter the scenarios into the database by using the "add scenario to database" page in section G-4. the scenario name, sides, # of turns etc...
This is the LAST thing that needs done, after everything else is set up, then we test it to ensure the points work and games post.
I need some sort of equivalents to modern ranks so I can set the # of points needed to achieve the next highest rank for all these armies as well

Thanks
Whis
Hi Randy,

that´s really difficult, because the structure of roman and
greek ( carthaginian are like greek ) are very different.

OK.
A roman Consul and a greek Strategos are equivalent to
a modern Fieldmarshal / 4 star General, or the highest
available rank of the particular army.
Have a look at my last email where I compared the ranks.
A taxiarhos is a Brigadier General, a syntagmatarkhis is a Colonel,
a tagmatarkhis is a Mayor, a Lokhagos is a Captain,
an Ipolokhagos is a Lieutenant.
Rome: Consul = Fieldmarshal, Legatus = Brigadier General,
Praefectus = Colonel, Tribun = Major, Centurio = Captain,
Optio = Lieutnant.

User made szenarios / sides:
The following sides could be used:
1.Carthaginian
2.Roman
3.Italian States ( Greeks, Samnite etc. )
4.Gauls
5.Numidian
6.Iberian

OK. I try to find some images for Gauls, Iberian and Numidians !?!
But don´t ask for ranks, please, as were talking about warbands !

Cheers, Klaus
no ranks needed unless players wish to use them for their ladder display which I've have to add them in separately and someone would have to get me that info Smile
For now I'll just add them in as sides available.

I'm guessing Caesar is simply a political rank then, non lead armies in the field?
