This horrific pic below shows what could happen if you push your tanks too far forward (head in noose) like I did here with my panzers.
Comivet cut them to pieces in the crossfire (red lines) of his T-34/85's and I surrendered soon after.
I was too gung-ho because my column of PzIV's was led by a Tiger and I expected too much of it.
(PS - He forced my surrender in the mirror too,groan)
The weakness of your stack is the opponent can get on its flanks and rear.
That were very exciting armor battles...it is always fun watching your opponents stuff blowing to pieces

No sadly not, I used it 10 times in 'Brits v 21Pz' and it only worked 8 times.. (sniffle)
but...you said...we should always punch with a fist not with fingers spread.
POS, don't think it is your armored fist tactic that will win you our game (must assume you count our game among the 8 times it worked). After all, the only tankplatoon which is wiped out completely is one of yours !
I think it was your tactic to take the flags early on, putting your units defensively on the right positions and you taking advantage of my wrong plan of attack, which will bring you victory.
In short: your defense is better then my attack. My view on our game.
