JUst to add to an earlier post I highly suggest you look into this game, it's very nice and a history lesson in it's own right!
It's flows smoothly and blends war / diplomacy / ecomonics easily

Anyone whose not listening to this message is really missing out on a fantastic gamming experience. A different time period than the norm and a much better than average game than the norm also.
i am really close to picking up this game . been reading the forums at matrix and players sayin how good the game plays. hey good game play, easy to look at graphics........i am reachin for my wallet.

my wife is not too happy latley , i bought JTCS, HOI 2 and CIV4 BTS i am looking at GOA , WITP, CEAW and ACW.......all the choices are driven me and her crazy!!
I have read the manual for GOA is not very well laid out and the scroll feature is usless, but apart from that a great game....i had this as a board game back in the 80's so i might just have a look??
I too used to play this in the 80`s. Great game. I`m willing to try this PBEM if anyone is up for it.
As I've indicated in the past, I'm thinking of picking up this game as well. Would be more inclined if there was a new club ladder for WWI or All Strategic Level Games. We could include the new World in Flames on the same ladder, when it comes out.

How are yopu getting on the great war? I am playing this a s pbem with
Antoni. We are up to March 1916 its a tough war to fight .
My German forces are pouring over the border into Belgium and have captured Liege. It took me one turn and hours to do it. Someone pointed out what they like about GOA is that you can play the whole war in about a month by PBEM. I don't think there is anyway you could do that with TOAW. But then again, strategic vs. operational are two different animals.
P.S. - I had been following your game on the TOAW ladder. Keep the updates coming.
