This ladder doesn't 'use' any 'resources'. I don't see any reason to shut it down.
I'd rather try to use the new Battlefront game coming out in August to get more people interested in these games.

LOL... just as Im about to sign up and start playing someone wants to bury it. dont worry guys..... if between us we can sort out a little article for the newsletter regarding the games covered in the Classic Wargames Ladder and a preview of the new game coming out from Battlefront perhaps it will ignite a little interest.

What can be done to revive the ladder has been discussed numerous times through the last few years, I guess the bottom line is that the main game that was played here when this ladder was somewhat active (TAO2) is no longer played, and its sequel found another home at the Wargamer.
This ladder should get buried or find a new flagship game (and maybe even change the name of the ladder). We had a hell of a time with TAO2 from around 2000-2004 or so, but players have moved on to other games, and other ladders. Just my 2 cents from someone who's been tracking the situation for years now (and sadly not being able to play any games due to other time commitments).

The ladder is not dead. Currently I have two games going: one with Old Bill and another with HB Maine.
If someone is up for a game of KP let me know.
TAO or TAO2 will not run on my current computer (Windows XP).
Bootie, don’t get discouraged by this negative sounding thread. This ladder is quiet but still alive.
I play on the SP ladder but prefer the scale (operational level) and historical aspect of Decisive Battles of WWII series, here at the Classical Wargames.

The ladder is slow, but certainly not dead. Not only am I currently playing KP, but Battles in Normandy, too. I agree with Runyan99 about the new Battlefront game. I hope that can get added to this ladder as he suggested in an earlier post. How 'bout it Old Bill? any comment? I think if we can look at adding new operational/strategic games to the ladder it may spark interest. Herb

Any game can be added providing there is
1 interest
2 a scoring method similar to exisiting one or a new one created
3 a Size modifier, if needed created
4 and scenario data entered into the Data base.
The staff will help in most of the work but in most cases we do ask that the players who have the games provide us with the charts and numbers. I know it sounds like work, but that's the way it happens.

I am ready to play TAO2.
And I want to say that it is a very long process to finish a large game. Usually it is about a few months. I spend 3 hours to make one turn.
